Yay!
I have finished the baby vest and it is SO CUTE. In fact, I even took pictures last night, but I haven't gotten the chance to download them yet. I am hoping that by the end of the weekend I will have them all up.
I have started a new project from the Debbie Bliss Essentials book, the Shawl Collar Sweater. Knitpicks was awesome in sending me replacement yarn for the project, and now I can get started immediately. The project is on size 8 needles though, so I am going through yarn really fast. I am honestly a little concerned about sizing (the gauge swatch says 'slightly stretched' so I am at a loss as to what that means) but since it knits so quickly, I figure it won't kill me if I have to rip it out and start again.
I also finally purchased the buttons for the Monster Hat, but they haven't been glued on yet - so STILL not finished there, but closer. Honestly, going into Walmart at 7pm on a Monday night was WAY better than, say, Saturday morning/afternoon.

On the Needles, roughly in order of how excited I am about them (subject to change without notice)
- The Baby Vest from Debbie Bliss's Essential Baby, in knitpicks shine sport (color Willow), for my baby boy due in June. I've finished the back and started on the front.
- Brainmonster from Cyn at Half-Assed Patterns. It's actually off the needles, but has no eyes yet...I haven't gotten the shank buttons I need yet to attach them.
- 1st garter rib sock from Sensational Knitted Socks, in Austermann Step. For the WH.
- Pi Shawl, from Elizabeth Zimmerman's Knitters Almanac in Knitpicks's Alpaca Cloud in Iris Heather. I'm trying to decide if I want to frog this and start over.
- Binary from Knitty Winter 06 for my dad for *NEXT* Christmas, Got a little over halfway through it for this xmas, and then got so frustrated I had to put it down for a while. Still in time out.
- Second ! Universal Toe Up Sock, from Knitty Summer 2006, Yarn is Bernat Baby Soft, extra from the baby shower gift. These may be UFOs for a while...I just can't seem to get excited about them.
In the Queue; things I want to knit. (Just keeps growing...)
- Baby clothes! Definitely including the adorable cargo pants from Knitty, summer 05. I'm due in June with a baby boy, and the idea of lots of little (instant gratification) projects entices me.
- The ring of cables hat from Knitpicks. I have leftover swish superwash from a pair of legwarmers I knit last year I think would be perfect.
- Chevron socks for self-striping yarn from Charlene Schurch's Sensational knitted socks.
- Piccovoli, from Mag knits
- Coachella, Knitty, Spring 2007
- Sahara, from Stitch Diva Studios. Just for me.
- ...and I've always wanted a lacy handmade cotton bedspread, but I am sure it's the kind of project I'd never finish.
